Trip to Farlington Marshes - Saturday 2nd February 2019

Dear all,

The next Southsea Wildlife Watch will take place on this Saturday the 2nd February. It is a special one, as we will visit Farlington Marshes Nature Reserve to celebrate World Wetlands Day !

Therefore, we will meet directly at 10 am at the Farlington Marshes entrance, near the 3rd card park. The address is: Solent Way, Portsmouth, Hampshire, PO6 1UN. There are height barriers at the entrance of the 1st car park (6' 3\"). We will wait for you at the entrance of the reserve before heading inside.

Be prepared for a lot of fun activities! Emma Hunt, Assistant Reserves Officer, will join us for an introduction of the site and wildlife, and explain about its conservation importance. We will also observe birds, go on a special scavenger hunt, play some games with the children being Brent geese on a journey from Siberia to Farlington, and finally create some bird feeders made of recycled materials.

Please make sure you come prepared with suitable outdoor clothing and footwear (warm clothes, waterproof\\\\\\\'s and wellies). It seems that the weather will be dry but quite cold, and there will be some puddles and mud on the way! The session may be cancelled at the last minute in the event of extreme weather so, if in doubt, do email or call (07581000869).
As usual, there is a suggested donation of £4 per child.
Don\\\\\\\'t hesitate to let us know if you need more information. If you have any issue finding us once you are there, please don\\\\\\\'t hesitate to contact me on my mobile phone (Mathilde: 07581000869).

We are looking forward to seeing you this Saturday!

Best wishes,
Mathilde, Lucy, Andy, Esther and Macauly (Wildlife Watch Leaders)
