Beach Fun in Southsea

Thanks to everyone who came along to our Beach Fun and Sea Creatures Wildlife Watch on Saturday!

Our first activity was lake dipping at Southsea Canoe Lake. We found lots of interesting creatures and even managed to catch a crab!
For the second half of the session, we headed to the beach for some birdwatching and beach art. The children made some brilliant beach sculptures and we all worked together to make a huge octopus out of seaweed, shells and stones.

We even managed to do some litter picking on our way back to Cumberland House.

See you for the next Watch, which is all about worms.

Buzzing picture

Here is a picture of one of our busy bee collecting nectar during the last session!

Buzzing Bees on 16th June

We had a great session for our 'Buzzing Bees' Wildlife Watch.

We made our own bees in a craft activity and then everyone worked together to create our very own Southsea Watch Beehive that we used for a fun game in the garden.
The beekeeper gave us a very interesting talk at the museum's Observational Beehive with up to 9000 European Honey Bees.

Thanks to all the busy bees that came along and helped us out!
