Autumn colours

We had a great Wildlife Watch session yesterday with all the amazing leaves around Eling. We found lots of different types of leaves of all shapes, sizes and colours. We arranged leaves from green to brown to create a colour line (photo), made leaf crowns, and got creative making leaf animals and people and collages. Thanks to all those that came.

Our next session is 8 December, 10 am to 12 pm, meet at Eling Tide Mill Visitor Centre, when we will be making Christmas wreaths.

Raft building and river walk

For our October Wildlife Watch session, we built rafts out of sticks and launched them in the river. All our rafts floated and we followed them down the river. Afterwards, we explored the river bank for wildlife - we found lots of bugs in the long grass, fish, ducks and swans in the river, and crabs on the shoreline where the tide had gone out. We also fond lots of conkers and acorns.

Out next session is on Saturday 10 November, 10 am to 12 pm, and our theme is autumn leaves. Meet at the Eling Tide Mill Visitor Centre at 10 am.
