What are nature stars?

About: A very large, colourful spider, the females can grow larger than 2cm long. Creamy yellow with black stripes across the body. The Wasp Spider is a recent arrival in Britain from the continent and has slowly spread over the south of England. They build large orb webs in grassland and heathland. The web has a wide white zig-zag strip running down the middle, known as a 'stabilimentum'.

How to identify: Unmistakeable.
