About: A very familiar thrush of parks and gardens, about 28cm long. Males are entirely black, females are dark brown with faint streaking on the chest and throat, and juveniles are dark brown covered with gingery streaks. They particularly like feeding on lawns.
How to identify: Unmistakeable. Males are black with a yellow bill. Females are dark brown with faint streaking on the breast.
