Jensen's litter picking mission!

The star of this blog is here to remind us that anyone, anywhere can do their bit to help out wildlife and wild spaces.

It’s not always easy to help the planet, sometimes it can feel almost impossible to take action. But don’t worry! The star of this blog is here to remind us that anyone, anywhere can do their bit to help out wildlife and wild spaces. We spoke to Jensen, who’s a member of Derbyshire Wildlife Trust, about his mission to clean up the streets on his way to school!

Hi Jensen, can you tell us a bit about yourself?

Hi, my name is Jensen, I’m 5 years old and I’m a member of Derbyshire Wildlife Trust. I also love Waddles, my penguin.

What kickstarted your passion for protecting the planet?

I heard on the news about the rubbish on the earth so I decided to ask my mummy and daddy if they could buy some litter pickers to help make the world better again!

Where do you go litter picking?

We litter pick at our local parks, and wherever we take Twix, our dog, for a walk.

How would you encourage others to take action for the planet in their local area?

By telling them to get litter pickers too to make a better future because the litter can make the animals sick or die and always make sure you put your litter in the bin or keep it until you get home

And finally, what’s your favourite UK wildlife?

I like robins because I like their redbreast on their tummy!
