At our recent Christams Party we challenged our Rangers to make as long a length of paper chains as they could in one hour. The result was over 200 feet! Was this a new world record? Well, no. The record is over 53 miles! A way to go yet. Still there's always next year.
Have a great christmas all and see you again in February.
Merry Christmas.

It was wet with a forecast for more rain. Oh dear - just the day for a trip to the beach.
However, once we got to Shoeburyness East Beach the sun came out and we spent a lovely afternoon sqelching through the estury ud looking for Crab, and other crustaceans. We even found a comb Jelly (see picture). We also found pipefish, and loads of Shrimps.
Everyone had a great time and a ig thank you to everyone who helped us out on the day.

Senior Rangers began in 2010 when the Widlife Rangers group was spilt into 2 (juniors and seniors). It is a group for 11 to 16 year olds who are interested in Wildlife and want to take part in practical conservation work. We meet on the first Sunday of each month from 10 am to 1 pm. Our base is Langdon Visitor centre near Basildon. We carry out work on the reserve such as path clearance and surveys.
