We will be meeting in the woods next to West Green House in Hartley Wintney from 2-4pm to look for dormice!

We put up dormice boxes last year (September) so we could survey the site and we are going back to see if anyone has moved in. There was a sighting earlier this year in May but we hope to find many more dormice have decided to move in.

We found one grass snake and six slow worms on our hunt on Saturday, 28 May. A big thank you to Peter Vaughan for helping us find them all. We all got the chance to hold a slow worm as it wasn't very slithery......

Our next meeting is on Saturday, 25 June from 2-4pm. We will be meeting at Foxlease to look for butterflies and wild flowers.

We have found a dormouse nesting in the tubes we put up last year near West Green House in Hartley Wintney. We also looked for newts in the pond next to the woods. Although we didn't find any newts we did find a frog and lots of other wildlife.

Our next watch meeting is on Saturday, 28th May from 10 til 12 at Pyestock Heath, Fleet and we are looking at snakes and reptiles.

This month we had lots of fun at the last indoor meeting. We learnt about the water cycle and how water is treated to make it clean enough for us to drink. We even tried to make a cloud in a bottle. Then everyone had a go at making an underwater scene in a jar with lots of glitter!

Outdoors next month and we are are meeting up for the great Pamber nut hunt on Saturday, 23 February from 10am - 3pm. Hope to see you there!
