Working with schools
Manx Wildlife Trust is committed to providing an excellent education service to schools across the Island on a wide variety of national curriculum subjects from science and geography to maths and art. Activities at school range from habitats walks and minibeast safaris to school grounds surveys and improvements. There are also a variety of interactive PowerPoint presentations on local wildlife, rivers, coasts, and interdependence and adaptation. School groups are also encouraged to explore all kinds of places so trips take place to woodlands, ponds, the beach, rivers and nature reserves. Fun, exciting, learning experiences include pond dipping, nature walks, rockpooling, river dipping and beach art.
Working with local community groups
The Trust also works with local community groups such as cubs and scouts and rainbows and brownies to further encourage interest in wildlife and conservation.
