More about Alderney Wildlife Trust

Alderney is one of the Channel Islands (in the English Channel that separates France and England) and is actually closer to France than the rest of the UK! As it is a small island, Alderney's environment is extremely special and is different to most other places in the UK. It is a special place for seabirds and marine wildlife in particular. Alderney Wildlife Trust looks after wildlife on the island and it does this a variety of different ways including

  • Running educational and public events
  • Visiting local schools
  • Establishing public ecological surveys
  • Producing local wildlife literature
  • Running participatory practical conservation sessions
  • Establishing school/college/university research projects
