What are nature stars?

About: This is the most common of all British orchids and the one you are most likely to see. It grows in many different habitats such as woodland, roadsides, hedge banks, quarries, dunes and marshes. Flowers between June and August.

How to identify: Look for pale pink flowers with darker pink spots. The upright leaves also have dark red splodges.

Where: Very common across all of the UK and Ireland

Fantastic fact: The highly perfumed flowers are particularly attractive to day-flying moths.
