Perfect Planting

We were giving nature a helping hand to spring back to life this watch club by planting a wildflower garden in the Nettlecombe grounds! We also created a newspaper plant pot in which we planted some nasturtium (loved by caterpillars) seeds so they could plant them in their gardens.

Brilliant Birding

Winter seemed to have finally subsided as we headed out onto the Quantocks with Nigel Phillips for some bird spotting. We started at East Qantoxhead and slowly made our way down to the beach.

We were fortunate enough to have Nigel Phillips with us who’s expert knowledge on birds and local wildlife was invaluable.

The beach was stunning in the sun and we had a little competition to see who could find a fossil, a crab and a sea anemone!

We spotted or listened to many birds including: Robin, Rook, Great tit, Aisbury Duck, Blackbird, Goldcrest, Wood Pidgeon, Buzzard, Stonechat, Chaffinch and Cormorants.
