About the Edinburgh group

The Edinburgh Wildlife Watch group arranges a variety of fun activities and events for children aged 5 to 10. From nature trails to scavenger hunts, arts and crafts to fungal forays, there are loads of cool ways to get closer to wildlife in your area.

Sunday 26th January 2014 - Go Green!
Reduce, reuse, recycle! Make an epic wildlife artwork out of recycled materials and explore other ways to help cut waste!

Sunday 23rd February 2014 - Who lives in a house like this?
Go through the keyhole of the animal world and discover where your favourite wildlife calls home.

Sunday 30th March 2014 - Under the Sea!
What is there to explore under the waves? Lots! Discover a whole new world and have a whale of a time!

Saturday 26th April 2014 - Watch out at Jupiter*
A visit to meet our fellow Watchers at Jupiter Scottish Wildlife Trust reserve in Grangemouth. Cook lunch over the campfire and more!

Sunday 25th May 2014 - A history of Arthur's Seat
Delve into the weird and wonderful history of Arthur's Seat with some explosive activities along the way!

Sunday 29th June 2014 - Water of Leith guided walk and river dipping*
An expert-led walk along the Water of Leith to explore the history and wildlife of Colinton Dell, followed by river dipping to find out more about the river's wildlife. *Subject to water levels. If water is too high, activity will be 'Woodland adventure' at same location.
Meet at Water of Leith Centre - cost to be confirmed, please contact us for further information.

Based in Holyrood Park for 5 – 10 year olds. We usually meet at Holyrood Park Education Centre on the last Sunday of every month from 10am – 12noon. Most sessions are £1. Booking via the email address below is essential.
