HAPPY NEW YEAR Nature Rangers – January 2012

Here we have another year to celebrate so we have to do plan what we would like to do at each of our sessions this year.
Do you remember that last year we watched nests with the help of our special camera in our nest box as they changed from eggs to baby birds, we watched them grow until they were ready to leave the nest……..
We planted trees, toasted teacakes, explored the world of worms, saved over 500 toads, recorded a radio programme, camped out, visited the Knapp & Papermill, discovered lots about apples and lots more, sometimes we GOT VERY WET …………….
We think from your comments on our meeting signing in sheet that you would like to do some of the things again so, we have talked to Master Bob who is going to help us. We also have ideas for some new activities such as making mud masks.
We do hope you will continue coming to our nature club. If you haven’t been for a while but would like to return, don’t be shy, we will be delighted to see you again.

Happy New Year to you all. We hope you are looking forward t

We haven’t met since we had our fantastic but very noisy attempt at making bird boxes before Christmas. We hope you have been able to put them up in your garden. If you haven’t you still have time to get them ready and on a tree/post before the birds start nesting – they will start looking for a new home very shortly. Why not bring pictures of where you have put your box and why you chose that spot – remember cats and squirrels like eggs and baby birds so think about its position very carefully.
Everyone agreed we could move our meetings to the second Sunday in each month which should work better when there are Bank Holidays. Usual meeting time is
10:30 – 12:30 at Ravenshill but there are some exceptions, so please put this newsletter somewhere where you can easily see it!
