Sunday 15 April – 2.00 – 4.00pm – Willow Tree Fen – checking the bird boxes we made/put up, and taking a close look at some of the birds on the reserve. Meet by the farm buildings.

Sunday 13 May – 2.00 – 4.00pm – Dole Wood – looking for the signs of spring. Meet by the roadside/car park on Obthorpe Lane.

Join Flynn and the gang in our "conservation tasks"! They're great fun! Here he is adding to the fire after "scrub bashing" and coppicing at Toft Tunnel.

We will be working in the east cutting, cutting back some of the
willow trees. Meet by the reserve entrance.

Conservation task - Robert’s Field Nature Reserve
We will be helping out with laying the roadside hedge. Meet by
the reserve entrance.

Sunday 8 January - 2.00 - 3.30pm
Conservation task - Willow Tree Fen Nature Reserve
Our second visit this winter to this new reserve.

Conservation task - The ‘Nature Wood’
Our annual tidy up of ‘our’ bit of Bourne Woods. Meet at the
Beech Avenue entrance to the woods.

Conservation task - Willow Tree Fen Nature Reserve
Our third visit this winter to this new reserve.
Entrance is on the Baston -
Pode Hole Road, about 3 miles
from the South Fen Road ‘T’
junction, nearly opposite Bank
House Farm. The farm track
crosses the Counter Drain (a
concrete bridge) - and then
heads North-west. The track is
in reasonable condition, so OK
for cars.

Dole Wood Nature Reserve

We will be checking and weeding around the newly planted oak trees in the meadow.

Meet by the roadside/track to the wood on Obthorpe Lane in Thurlby.

Sunday 8 May - 2.00 - 4.00pm
Owl pellets - Willow Tree Fen Nature Reserve

We will be seeing what the local owls have been eating by dissecting some owl pellets - you will be amazed!

Sunday 12 June - 2.00 - 4.00pm
Bird Boxes - Willow Tree Fen Nature Reserve

Making bird boxes to be put up on the reserve - bring your own hammer - we will supply the rest.

Sunday 10 July - 2.00 - 4.00pm
Pond dipping - Willow Tree Fen Nature Reserve

We will be taking a look at the creatures living in one of the ponds on the reserve.

‘Treasure Hunt’ - Deeping Lakes Nature Reserve
There will be an Open Day at Deeping Lakes, starting at 10.30am, so you COULD come for the whole day - there will be lots going on. BUT in the afternoon you can join in with the fun as we have a Treasure Hunt!

Sunday 11 September - 2.00 - 4.00pm
Bug Hunt - Willow Tree Fen Nature Reserve

We will be snooping about, looking for bugs and other insects living on the reserve. Wear long trousers/jeans to protect your legs, and a long-sleeved top will stop some of the scratches!

Sunday 9 January - 2.00 - 3.30pm
Horbling Line Nature Reserve
We will be helping out with another hedge laying project, and
will probably have another fire going to keep us warm.
Meet at the reserve entrance, on Stow Lane, Horbling.

Sunday 13 February - 2.00 - 3.30pm
‘The Nature Wood’ (‘our’ bit of Bourne Woods)
This is our very own patch in Bourne Woods, and we need to
give it a bit of a trim and tidy up!
Meet at the Beech Avenue entrance to Bourne Woods. You
will need wellies because the wood is ALWAYS very wet and
muddy in the winter.

Sunday 13 March - 2.00 - 3.30pm
Deeping Lakes Nature Reserve
We will be helping with some practical conservation work - not
sure what yet. But, it will almost certainly involve a bit of cutting
stuff down and burning it.
Meet in the main car park. Wear some old clothes and think
about the weather - it can still be a bit nippy in March.
