Kingfisher Club Gorge 07/06/2014

We made bugs today our of clay and then went on a bug hunt, also kept our eye out for other things.

Ground Beetle, Black Aphid, Black Ant, Ladybird Larvae, Blue Damselfly, Blue Damselfly, Green Capsid, Orange Tip Caterpillar, Large White Larvae, Darter Dragonfly, 2, 7 & 22 spot Ladybird, Spider, Common Carder, Buff Tailed and Red Tailed Bumble Bee, Common Blue, Tortoise Shell Butterflies & Fly

Little Egret, House Sparrow, Goldfinch, Wood Pigeon, Coot, Mallard, Greylag and Canada Geese, Great Crested Grebe and Common Tern.

Grass Snake and Slow Worm.

Had a great day again finding grass snakes and slow worms.

House Martin, Blackbird, Wood Pigeon, House Sparrow, Mute Swan, Coot, Black Headed Gull, Mallard, Canada and Greylag Geese, Cormorant, Moorhen, Little Egret, Goldfinch, Kingfisher, Collard Dove, Great Tit, Robin. Reed Warbler, Magpie, Grey Heron, Hobby, Carrion Crow, WhieThroat, Pied Wagtail, Common Tern, Blue Tit, Greenfinch, Green Woodpecker.

Garden & Lipped Snail, Buff Tailed, Tree and Red Tailed Bumble Bee, Black and Meadow Ant, Grass Snakes (5), Slow Worm (16), Azure and Blue Tailed Damselfly. 2 & 7 Ladybird and Ladybird Larvae. Black Tailed Skimmer Dragonfly, Pill and Common Woodlouse, Spiders, Daddy Long Legs, Teasel, Cuckoo Spit, Peacock Caterpiller, Small Copper, Small Tortoiseshell, Holly Blue, Centipede, Millipede, Blue Bottle and Flesh Fly, 6 Spot Burnet Moth, Honey Bee, Brimstone Butterfly, Roach, Hoverfly, Large White Butterfly and Slug

Abberton Reservoir 31/05/2014

Went Pond Dipping and was really good. Saw lots of larvae and nymph including damselfly and dragonfly. Also saw ... Ramshorn and Pond Snail, Blood Worm, Water Boatman, Pond Skater, Mayfly Nymph, Caddis-fly Larvae. Plus some newt nymphs.

They some bugs and I held a Tarantula, Snake and Praying Mantis. My brother held a Snake and a Cockroach.

Other things that we saw.

Buzzard, Rook, Skylark, Swift, Cormorant, Carrion Crow, Canada and Greylag Geese, Song Thrush, Whitethroat, coot, Great Crested Grebe, Swan, Mallard, Little Egret, Black Headed Gull, Starling, Reed Bunting, Common Tern, Magpie, Pied Wagtail, Pied Wagtail, Marsh Harrier, Cuckoo, Shovler, Tufted Duck, Great Black Backed Gull, Dunnock, Robin and Pheasant.

Common Blue Butterfly, Crab Spider (pictured), Cuckoo Spit, Teasel, Common Woodlouse.

Bat Walk at Gorge 30/05/2014

My brother was really excited on the bat walk. We used detectors and saw Common Pipistrelle, Daubenton's Bat and a Brown Long-Eared Bat. Whilst waiting for the sun to set we also saw a Green Woodpecker.
