I think that narrow boating is a great way to see wildlife and the English country side. The boat isn't that fast and the engine isn't noisy so you don't scare away any wildlife, you are also more on their level than you would be normally so you see more animals.

we went on a narrow boat trip yesterday and while we were having lunch, a snake swam along right in front of the boat! some ducks spotted it and herded it into the bank where we couldn't see it. We got a few pictures and we reckon it is a grass snake!!

whoooooooo its spring, finally!!!!! i have seen loads of bumble bees and daffodils!!!!!!!!!!!

when we were walking by our local canal, we saw 2 pairs of swan footprints who must have walked at least 5 miles! we followed the foot prints until we reached a hole in the ice and there were two swans in it, they had both been ringed, their numbers were: Y45 and Y15.

if you havent seen my comment on badgers blog, then 3 days ago i went to newquay for a daytrip and saw some dolphins!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (if you havent already read my comm. on badgers blog for more info) as promised, here is a piccie! the greyer one on the left is the calf and the one in the foreground is its Mum, did you know dolphins skin, although it appears smooth has actually got lots of tiny folds in it!
