About: This seaside plant, also called 'sea pink' is a common sight on cliffs around the British Isles as well as on inland marshes. It flowers from spring through to autumn.
How to identify: The pink flowers appear on long stems above springy cusions of foliage.
Where: Found around the coast in the UK and Ireland and more common in the Northwest of Sctoland
Fantastic fact: A picture of the thrift flower used to be on one side of the old 'threepenny bit' coin.
