About: The meadow grasshopper is another local resident of mainly damper, unimproved pastures and meadows.
How to identify: Similar to the Field Grasshopper, but without the hairy 'chest'. Best identified by its song, which is a regular 'rrrr rrrr rrrr rrrr', sounding like a sewing machine in short bursts of up to 3 seconds.
Where: Widespread.
