About: A common summer visitor, arriving in April and leaving in October. House Martins build mud nests, sometimes in small colonies, under ledges, on cliffs and frequently under the eaves of houses. Commonest in towns and villages.
How to identify: House Martins are glossy black above with a white rump, completely white below with a short forked tail.
